All Saints Day!

Celebrating Halloween or "All Hallows Eve" is great fun, but what is even more fun is celebrating All Saints Day on November 1st!  Our boys have been looking forward to this celebration for months and planning which Saints they were going to dress up like for this celebration!  This year we had Saint Michael the Archangel, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Luke - The Physician.  We had so much fun with wonderful activities over the past week to help celebrate these great Saints along with many others.

Our homeschool co-op helped to host a wonderful All Saints Party at a near by retreat center in our town.  There were so many kids and everyone had a great time dressing up like their favorite Saints, playing Saint based games, going on a hayrack ride, having a Saints Parade singing "The Saints Go Marching In" along with other fun faith filled songs, and ending with a fun bonfire and s'mores.  We had so much fun and it was such a great way to promote our faith with wonderful friends!

We also did some fun celebrating and learning about Saints in our home, decorating with our Happy Feast of All Saints banner and reading some of our favorite books about saints!  Some of our favorites include:

We also added the book I Sing a Song of the Saints of God to our collection this year from Catholic Mosaic and had a great time completing the activities with this "new to us" book!  We also have on display our Peg Saint Dolls to play with and are going to make our very own Holy Cards!  Our oldest asked a few weeks ago "Mom is there a Saint Ryan".  I said, "No, not yet!" And his reply was "That's ok, I'll be the first one!"

God please protect us and help us all work toward Sainthood!
