Feast of St John Bosco - Saint Mail

Today is the feast day of St John Bosco, who just happens to be one of our favorite saints!  So when we saw that he was the highlighted saint in our monthly Saint Mail Subscription our boys were thrilled!   St John Bosco was an Italian priest in the 1800's and is most known for forming a place for young boys to gather and learn about God, thus why he has become the patron saint for boys!  Our boys know and love that they can always pray to St John Bosco during any time of need or question.

Our Saint Mail for St John Bosco
We LOVE our Saint Mail subscription and I cannot believe the fun learning and devotion that it has brought to our family over the past year!  When we started implementing living the liturgical year within our own home and in our homeschooling, one thing we knew that we wanted to do was to learn more about the Saints.  If you are anything like me, I am a busy mom of little kids so having someone who put it all together for me and sends me EVERYTHING is simply amazing.  When you sign up for a monthly subscription each month you get:
  • A letter from the featured saint of the month
  • A Saint Medal or religious figurine
  • Ideas to celebrate the Saint's Feast Day with craft, games, activities and recipes
  • A refrigerator magnet to remind you of the feast day (my children love to display all of these in our homeschool room!)
  • A small trinket/toy or materials for a craft
Our Saint Mail Magnets!
Our first year of Saint Mail we learned about: St Katharine of Drexel (March 3rd), St Isidore of Seville (April 4th), Blessed Imelda Lambertini (May 13th), Saint Erasmus (June 2nd), Saint Benedict (July 11th), St Clare of Assisi (August 11th), St Vincent de Paul (September 27), Saint Margaret Mary (October 16), St Margaret Queen of Scotland (November 16), St Juan Diego (December 9th), and St John Bosco (January 31st).  Look at that amazing group of holy men and women!  We cannot wait to find out who we will continue to learn about in the upcoming year!

Our children LOVE mail, so simply waiting for the package to arrive each month and the special surprise of finding out who the saint they will learn about is so exciting for them!  The letters are written from each Saint and are written to engage even the youngest of children in a story like form.  The crafts and activities are engaging and truly help make it easy for me as the parent to teach my children about what special things each Saint did or is known for!  The subscription costs $12.99 per month and you get a discount if you sign up for a 6 month or year subscription.

We keep all of our Saint Mail in our special Saint Mail bag that you get during your first month of your subscription so we can revisit the same Saints in the following years.  The years do not repeat themselves so each year we continue to learn about new Saints each month!  We are so pleased with this ministry and love bringing these amazing stories and people into our lives!
