We have had a handful of snowy days in the past few weeks which has allowed for a lot of fun time outside in the snow. I love that homeschooling has truly allowed us to play and take advantage of the fun in the snow! Our boys spend hours outside sledding, playing in their fort and having snow ball fights!
Our two year old will go outside for a while, but gets cold quickly. He was getting sad that he was not playing in the snow as much as his big brothers so I decided to just bring the snow inside for him to play with. He loved making a little snowman and just playing with the snow in the warmth of our own kitchen!
Also, during this cold winter we have spent a lot of time reading and cuddling together on the couch! We try to start each morning reading together where our oldest two sons each pick a book to read to all of us and then I read from a chapter book for a while. Our oldest son who is now six has the most interesting picks which this week included the Bible and also a book about World War 2! We also use it as a perfect excuse for extra cuddle time with our littlest one!
Sometimes, when the weather is cold we just need to get out and run off some energy! Thankfully, we have a fantastic and fun HUGE inside playground for the kids to play at! They had a blast!
We also have found a local indoor water park to enjoy during the cold winter days! Our kids LOVE the water and swimming so it is a perfect indoor family activity.
We are trying to remember and appreciate the ebb and flow of the seasons, and as much as we long for the warmth of spring we are enjoying the snowy bitter days of winter!
