We have kind of become year round homeschoolers, but as the new "school year" is approaching we are taking a look at what curriculum we are using in this upcoming year, updating our homeschool room, and also determining what our tentative schedule will look like. One of the biggest blessings with homeschooling has been that word TENTATIVE. We can plan something, but then allow our lives to adjust, bend and be flexible with whatever else is going on in our lives. So, our tentative schedule for this year is as follows:
6am-7am:
- Usually our middle son wakes up during this time and I take time to have a cup of coffee, shower and read the Bible
- Everyone awake, get dressed, eat breakfast, morning chores
- Kids=make beds, brush teeth, tidy rooms, put breakfast dishes away, wipe counters, give dogs food/water
- Mom= start laundry, unload dishwasher, look at menu plan for daily meals, any to-do list items for the day
- Morning Rosary, Saint of the Day, and Calendar Time
- Flexible Time for Learning All Together, Field Trips, Enrichment Activities, or Errands/Appointments
- Learning Activities: Saint Mail, Catholic Mosaic, Before Five in a Row or any other theme learning
- Field Trips: Library, Zoo, Children's Museum, Nature Walk, etc
- Enrichment Activities:
- Wednesdays: Tae-kwon-do
- Thursdays: Catechesis of the Good Shepard
- Fridays: Usually a Homeschool Co-Op Activity (Field Trip, Workshops, Mass/Adoration)
- Lunch Time, Praying the Angelus, Switching Out Laundry, and Putting our Youngest child down for nap time
- Structured learning time for our oldest two children *See our current curriculum choices HERE*
- Household Chores (Rotating Daily and Monthly Schedule)
- Free Time
- Family Dinner Time
- Family Fun Time (Sometimes we have sports during this time depending on the season; Soccer or T-ball)
- Kids Bath time, Story Time, Prayers and Bedtime
- Adult Time
