1. How did you celebrate the 4th of July?
We had a great weekend spending time on the lake with my in-laws on their new boat and then having a BBQ with my family and lighting off some little fireworks/sparklers. We also spent time learning all about American History, because that is what our little guys are LOVING right now!
2. Do you sunburn easily?
Not really! Yet, I am a really big advocate for sunscreen for everyone, so I never really have a chance to burn. I love the spray on sunscreen and usually use at least 30 SPF for myself and 50 SPF for our kiddos. Also, we have our boys wear rash guard shirts or t-shirts when out in the sun or swimming not only for sun protection but also modesty (yes even for boys!!).
3. Hot dogs. Yay or nay?
Sure! I do not really eat hot dogs much myself, as I am more of a bratwurst or hamburger fan, but our kids eat them and I am not opposed to eating them. We grill a TON during the summer time and all summer food is YUMMY!
4. Have you ever personally set off fireworks?
This year was a first for me (and it was only the tiny ones)! I grew up going to fireworks shows with my family at our grandparents lake cabin but we never did our own fireworks. My husbands family did fireworks growing up and so we are starting small with our little guys and having fun! I am also thankful that my husband is an Emergency Room physician and the Assistant Medical Director for our cities Fire Department! We definitely practice safety first!

5. Have you ever jumped off the high dive?
Yes! Gosh, it has been a long time, but I definitely have done it before. Our oldest son jumped off the diving board for the first time during his swimming lessons this year without any life jacket on! I grew up in the water and we spend lots of our summer days already at the pool or lake.
I do not really do anything weird in my sleep like sleep walk, etc but I do have my own strange habits. I am a VERY light sleeper and after working night shifts as an RN for years I started the habit of needing to wear an eye mask and ear plugs to sleep. Even wearing ear plugs I can still wake up at the slightest sound of our children. I also use a TON of pillows when I sleep (even when not pregnant). I've had my eye on this pregnancy pillow lately which looks heavenly!

I love my Snoogle. I got it with my first pregnancy and never gave it up!!
ReplyDeleteI think I might just splurge on it! It looks simply fantastic! Glad to hear you like it! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI thought I'd love mine when I got it for my first pregnancy but I think I turn over too much and then I got all tangled up in it. I haven't broken it out since, pregnant or not. Maybe if I had one on each side of me? (My husband would kill me -- can you imagine? Pillow fortress!)
DeleteColleen I seriously have pillows everywhere, so I've been thinking this might limit my multiple pillows into one! I'm not too much of a turner in my sleep so maybe it will work! Thanks for your comment!
DeleteAw such sweet pictures! My boys are into American History currently too and I am big pillow user too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly! We just can't get enough of American history right now! It is so much fun!
DeleteHow lucky you are to have a husband around who can handle all sorts of "oopsie-daisy" moments with young children in the house!
ReplyDeleteYes it is so nice to have him around to help with everything and also know when we can handle things on our own! I am blessed in that way for sure! Thanks for commenting!
DeleteI am a light sleeper when it comes to anything dangerous or kid-related--if someone strikes a match in the house the smell will wake me!--but I can fall asleep and stay asleep through barking dogs, thunderstorms, loud televisions. It's interesting how that works!
